1. History:
August, 2002: Started for conservation of threatened organisms in inland waters by gathering scientists working on conservation ecology, a past chair of a nature conservation fund, and a past officer of environmental agency.
April, 2003: Established as a limited liability association.
November, 2009: Re-established as a general association.
October, 2017: Office moved from Tokyo to Miyagi.

• Proposal for administration of information and conservation policy of indigenous freshwater fish (subsided by Environmental Restoration and Conservation Agency).
• Proposal for administration of information and conservation policy of freshwater fish in Important Wetland 500 Japan (MOE 2002).
• Research on river environmental restoration on an indicator of reproductive condition of threatened shell fish, Semisulcospira (Biwamelania) nakasekoae (subsided by River Foundation).
2004:
• Proposal for monitoring for conservation of threatened aquatic organisms in Nobi Plain (Kiso Three Rivers Basin) (subsided by River Foundation).
• Research forum on conservation of animals and plants in fountain upheld waters (held at Nippon Seinenkaikan, Tokyo).

• Ex situ conservation of an Osaka population of Rhodeus ocellatus kurumeus (subsided by Environmental Restoration and Conservation Agency).
